Silence. It’s not something everyone is comfortable with. This is especially so when we are constantly bombarded and surrounded by sounds, conversations and busy-ness of intermingling and goal-getting all the time. Except, perhaps during our sleep times or sick times, you will appreciate silence (if you aren’t resorting to binaural beats, white noise or ASMR to sleep).
Interestingly, when you become accustomed to silence, you will notice many things you haven’t before. You may hear the types of zoom of cars, the soft hums of the air-conditioner, the beating of your heart, the sound of breathing of another person in the room or feel the pain of someone next to you.
I call such silence the joyful calm. Through half a decade of daily practice, I realise it is the best solace I give to myself and the people around me. It is also the best resource that helps me make decisions and see the answers to questions. It has also given me so much lightness and ease within while I go about my daily life. It has also helped me discern when is the best moment to be in service, and when it is better to stay in the space of self-love and just be.
Many people have marvelled how I could remain in this state of light and suave calmness regardless of what situations I am in. E.g. being thrown curveballs and taking them in stride, handling provoking questions in front of critical judges with perfect ease, easing escalating conflicts and volatile personalities with few, quick, simple but effective tactics. Just to name a few.
To this envy, I now share that I owe this to the silence. Truth, wisdom, love, acceptance, understanding and forgiveness are all in it.

Today, as you read this page, written directly from my heart, I want to share the news of this Joyful Calm class with you. I’m looking to create and support a group of people who are keen to take silence and ease deep into their inner journeys as a resource and use it to become a good support to their own circle of people. If you feel that you resonate with this, please come forward.
I have categorised this class under fundamentals as it is easy access in terms of cost and ease of learning. Guidance is simple and straight forward just like the explanatory text on this page. It will give you a strong fundamentals before you attempt other classes stated on this website.

One hour weekly - for 12 weeks
The sessions are progressive to strengthen and synchronise your breathing with your natural body rhythms. Each lesson is curated and focused on specific body part(s) each week.
The following will be used:
- Sounds,
- Micro-somatics,
- Brief body evaluation and adjustments
- Secular mindfulness,
- Silence
- Contemplation cards will be used
The proportion of each activity will change according to week number as this is a lesson-based class to help participants achieve the joyful calm and beneficial silence. The actual details and themes will be shared with committed participants who have signed up.
For best results, fully attend all 12 weeks.

Why should I attend the class?
- Wouldn't it be easier and the same if I just listen to audio track / app on my own at home?
Yes, nothing beats comfort at home. However, the experience and learnings you will receive from the class will be different and valuable:
- guidance of an experienced practitioner
- just-in-time address of any questions / issues you may have that will effectively help you move forward
- conducive environment and practising with like-minded individuals
- availability of specific resources meant for these sessions
- uncover awareness to your oversight / blindspots in terms of breathing / posture / physiology and more

Coach’s Background
Our Coach is a mindfulness and silence practitioner in her being. She finds these one of the most useful self-mastery tool that can be conveniently practised anywhere anytime. Be it during conversations, an emergency, presentation, work, exercise, meals, massages etc. Through it, she deepens into the practice of 无为 (wu wei) and has transformed from a tiger mom to a kitty mom and from a type A personality to type B. She also discovered the ability to become more energy-efficient in the moments despite the dramas going on around her. Best of all, she relives her life again and now has the time to fulfil her personal dreams, guilt-free. Her family & work relationships have also pivoted as a result.
